Serving Those Who Served Us
America's veterans have made extraordinary sacrifices in service to our country. At MedLink Home Care, we believe that the men and women who defended our freedom deserve the highest quality of care when they need it. Our Veterans Care Program is a specialized service designed to meet the unique physical, emotional, and administrative needs of veterans and their families throughout Georgia.
Many veterans face health challenges directly related to their military service, from chronic pain and mobility issues to traumatic brain injury and post-traumatic stress. Others are aging and need the same types of home healthcare support that any older adult might require, but with the added complexity of navigating the VA healthcare system and benefit programs. MedLink Home Care addresses both dimensions with expertise and compassion, providing personalized in-home care while also helping veterans and their families access the financial benefits they have earned.
Our caregivers who work within the Veterans Care Program receive specialized training in veteran-specific conditions and sensitivities. They understand the importance of approaching care with respect for military culture, awareness of service-related health conditions, and sensitivity to the unique emotional needs of those who have experienced combat or other difficult military experiences. This is not just a job for our team. It is a privilege and a way of saying thank you.

Understanding the Aid & Attendance Benefit
The VA's Aid & Attendance pension is one of the most valuable yet underutilized benefits available to eligible veterans. This program provides additional monthly income to wartime veterans (and surviving spouses) who require the regular attendance of another person to assist with daily living activities. The benefit can be used to help pay for home healthcare services, making quality care more accessible and affordable.
To be eligible, the veteran must have served at least 90 days of active duty with at least one day during a period of war, received a discharge that was not dishonorable, and meet certain income and asset requirements. The veteran must also demonstrate a need for assistance with activities of daily living, be bedridden, be a patient in a nursing home, or have limited eyesight. MedLink Home Care's team can help you understand whether you or your loved one may qualify and guide you through the application process step by step.
A Commitment to Our Veterans
MedLink Home Care's Veterans Care Program is more than a service offering. It is a reflection of our deep gratitude and respect for those who wore the uniform. We are committed to treating every veteran with the honor they deserve, providing care that acknowledges their service, and making every effort to ensure they have access to the benefits and support they have earned. If you are a veteran or the family member of a veteran in need of home healthcare, we consider it our duty to help.
Personalized Care for Veteran-Specific Conditions
Veterans often face a constellation of health challenges that differ from the general civilian population. Exposure to combat, harsh environments, hazardous materials, and the physical demands of military service can result in conditions that require specialized knowledge and sensitivity. Our care plans for veterans are built around a thorough understanding of these unique factors, with input from the veteran, their family, and their VA healthcare providers.
For veterans dealing with PTSD, our caregivers are trained to create a calm, stable environment, recognize triggers, respond with patience rather than alarm, and know when to involve mental health professionals. For those with service-connected physical disabilities, we provide skilled assistance with mobility, adaptive equipment, and daily activities while encouraging as much independence as the veteran is safely able to maintain. Every plan is individualized because every veteran's story and needs are different.
MedLink Home Care's Veterans Care Program is available across Gwinnett, DeKalb, Cobb, Fulton, Bibb, Macon, Sumter, Randolph, Peach, and Dooly counties in Georgia. If you or a loved one has served our country and could benefit from compassionate home healthcare, we would be honored to serve you. Contact us today for a free consultation.
